About Us
Top To Tail’s journey began over a quarter of a century ago when it was known as “Trim and Swim” in the heart of Coulsdon. The story took root with Emma and Sophie, the current passionate owners, who initially started as Saturday helpers under the guidance of Charmaine, their cousin. This venture has always been a true family affair, with many of its members commencing their professional journeys right here surrounded by a dedicated group of fellow animal enthusiasts.
In 2008, a pivotal decision was made to separate the grooming business from the hydrotherapy center, and thus, Top To Tail was born. Not long after, in 2009, Charmaine embarked on her own adventure to Holland, leaving the reins in the capable hands of Sophie, then just 18 years old. Sophie embraced the opportunity to carry forward Charmaine’s legacy and boldly stepped into the world of entrepreneurship, with dreams of expansion.
In 2016, Emma, Sophie’s sister, joined forces, and together, they embarked on a rebranding journey that ultimately led to the birth of the Top To Tail brand as you now recognise it.
The year 2018 marked a significant milestone when the sisters acquired “The Mutt Hut” in Coulsdon. This strategic move brought the Purley and Coulsdon teams together, forging the incredible, cohesive team you meet today. Throughout the years, this remarkable team has weathered economic challenges, a global pandemic, and the ever-present cost-of-living crisis. Their resilience and unwavering dedication are a testament to the enduring support of our cherished and loyal customers who have been an integral part of our journey.

Our dedicated team’s mission is to ensure that each grooming session is a comfortable and enjoyable experience. To us, the animals in our care are not merely clients; they are family, and it brings us joy to be a part of their lives.
We take immense pride in being the recipients of the prestigious ‘BEST DOG & CAT GROOMING SALON’ Award in Greater London. Our journey has also taken us to the prestigious stage of Dragon’s Den, where the sisters behind Top To Tail showcased their entrepreneurial journey. Beyond grooming, we’ve successfully expanded Top To Tail into a sought-after brand encompassing clothing and have become a source of inspiration for countless aspiring groomers in our industry.
